Empowering Women Across Sierra Leone
AllWoman4Betteh is a women-led movement building prosperity through savings, enterprise, solar energy and community action — across all 16 districts of Sierra Leone.
Why We Exist
Women in the Informal Economy
The majority of Sierra Leone's working women are in the informal economy — without access to formal finance, markets or legal protection. AllWoman4Betteh exists to change that.
Locked Out of Finance
Women across all 16 districts face structural barriers to credit, savings and investment. Our VSLA model puts financial power directly in women's hands.
No Power, No Progress
Without reliable energy, women cannot run businesses, study after dark or access modern services. Our solar programme is changing that — one community at a time.
Collective Action Works
When women organise together — in savings groups, community circles and advocacy networks — they achieve what no individual can alone.
"I believe prosperity begins when women are trusted to lead. Not as beneficiaries of development — but as its architects."
Leah Fatmatta Suma
Founder & Executive Director, AllWoman4Betteh
Our Framework for Change
Five interconnected pillars — grounded in evidence, driven by community, built for lasting impact
We gather evidence on women's lived experiences of poverty, exclusion, energy access and economic barriers across Sierra Leone.
We build Community Action Circles, VSLA savings groups and local networks that give women collective power.
We equip women with financial literacy, enterprise skills, solar energy access and the confidence to lead.
We link women to markets, finance, diaspora networks and the decision-makers who shape their communities.
We advocate for policy change, measure impact and build a Sierra Leone where women's prosperity is the norm.
Our Five Pillars
Every pillar is a commitment — to listen, to act, and to transform women's lives
Listen
Community listening sessions, household surveys and participatory research across all 14 districts.
Organise

Connect
Linking women to markets, diaspora networks, finance and the decision-makers who shape their communities.
Transform
Advocacy, policy engagement and the Women's Prosperity Index — measuring and driving systemic change.
